Stop Egg Harbor City from unfairly denying distribution of CEAS Emergency Housing Federal Aid to Unemployed New Jersey residents
Aktions Box
Dear Mr. President and Members of Congress from the great State of New Jersey. Please send a message to the Mayor of Egg Harbor City New Jersey to stop blocking Federal Aid from being distributed and allow the AC Rescue Missions Community Outreach Program to re-open.
Your help is urgently needed to stop local city officials from unfairly denying the distributing of CEAS Emergency Housing Federal Aid to Unemployed New Jersey residents. The Egg Harbor City Council and zoning board are moving to stop the CEAS program from being conducted at City Zoning Board Meeting May 25th at 6:30 p.m.
At the beginning of the year, Atlantic City Rescue Mission was approved to distribute CEAS Emergency Housing Federal Aid to residents in Southern New Jersey. The Mission they contacted City officials to open an administrative office "Community Outreach" to distribute the funds and as granted approval at the commercial building located at: 335 Boston Avenue, Egg Harbor City New Jersey.
Later the city's verbal approval was receded and additional zoning requirements were requested for occupancy, which the Mission immediately responded to. We believe the City is acting unfairly to keep the office from opening because the building we have been attempting to run the CEAS Program administrative office from has been target with a myriad of unwarranted violations.
This building has operated for years as an administrative and commercially zoned building, long before the Mission considered it as a potential location for their CEAS administrative office.
There are no structural code violations and it is believed now that this administrative office is being unfairly targeted because of the nature of the business that would be conducted there.
The political motives behind this are unprecedented and they unfairly encumber millions of dollars in Federal aid from reaching the unemployed people who need help making their utility and mortgage payments.
Please help the Mission by lending your support to this effort at the upcoming Zoning Board Meeting on May 25th at 6:30 p.m. (500 London Ave. Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215) and allow the Atlantic City Rescue Mission to immediately resume the (CEAS)Emergency Housing Program.
