Why We're Here

So what's this site all about?

Plain and simple, it's about good old-fashioned grassroots activism in a web 2.0 context. It's about giving anyone the ability to come to a "one-stop-shop" where they can create and manage a campaign online about whatever issue happens to tickle their fancy. And to be able to do so with many of the more sophisticated tools that are usually only available to professionsals - and to have them all in one place.

The project was born out of an ongoing conversation we've had about enabling various forms of online activism, such as petitions, in a way that made more sense and would be more effective for the user. As our thought process continued, our ideas expanded, which means the tools we're working to make available on this site have expanded.

Bottom line. We mean to make AktNow! THE place to go for effective online activism. Which means your experience and feedback as users will be invaluable to us in making improvements as we go along.
