ADHD: The Bigger Picture

Filed under:

The Brain of the Future is Here Now!  Let’s Treat It Right.

The goals of this Campaign are listed in paragraph 3.

1. Did you know there are over 2.5 million children on prescription drugs to manage the symptoms of ADHD?  In her groundbreaking book, ADHD – The Bigger Picture, Cheryl Healey not only provides drug-free solutions but also sheds light on an ever-increasing dilemma for parents of children diagnosed with ADHD.  Cheryl states that “ADHD has reached critical mass which means this brain is here to stay.  It is the brain of the future and it is here now.  Are we to believe that the solution is to drug everyone with this new brain?  When the caveman brain evolved to what it is today, had there been drugs and equipment available to photograph the differences, our current brain would have been labeled “abnormal” and we’d all be on drugs to manage our non-caveman-like symptoms.  These children need our help to adapt successfully to society.  Drugs only treat the symptoms and not the cause.”

2.One of the symptoms of ADHD is addictive behaviors.  Drugging a young brain that is not yet fully developed can increase this tendency toward addiction.  The Drug Enforcement Agency classifies stimulants prescribed for ADHD as dangerously addictive and highly prone to abuse right along with opium and cocaine.

3. The goal of this Campaign is to start a Movement and accomplish the following:

  • Raise awareness that the ADHD brain is the brain of the future and it is here now to stay.
  • Raise awareness that there are drug-free methods available to minimize or totally eliminate the symptoms of ADHD.
  • Raise awareness that children and all individuals with ADHD have special talents the world needs just as everyone does and it is our duty to help them, not drug them and shove them aside.  As a population we have taken on multi-tasking to manage the new fast-paced lives we must lead which is something the ADHD brain can do naturally.
  • Demand that insurance companies cover drug-free treatments for ADHD.
  • Demand that our legislators deem it illegal to poison our food supplies as is true in Europe.
  • Demand that our legislators rule it illegal to genetically change the food God created for the human body.
  • Demand that food labels tell the whole truth and not camouflage harmful ingredients under blanket terms.
  • Create change in schools to accommodate multiple learning styles.
  • Reserve the right to add goals to this list as time goes on.

ADHD – The Bigger Picture offers parents of children diagnosed with ADHD valuable and necessary information including medical tests that must be performed before drugs are considered in order to find the cause rather than just treat the symptoms; as well as behavior modification tools; nutritional suggestions; how to advocate for a child at school; facts about the laws and tips to master meetings with school officials; and so much more!  Visit www.thegiftofyou.com to learn more about the book ADHD: The Bigger Picture.
